Is the streak count typed in by hand?

No. You enter a start date and a cadence, and the card counts the weeks (or months) from that date to today, the same rule the Streak Club board uses.

Is anything stored?

No. Everything on the card lives in the link. Change the link and you get a different card. That is also why cards are marked self-reported.

Does it cost anything?

No. The card and the weekly streak email are free.
